It is one of the historic citiws of Tabarestan . Its name is derived from Mard , or Amard , a powerful combative tribe .

The bazaar includes part of the old city consisting of the tomb towers of Nasserol-Haqq and Shams Tabarsi , Emam Hassan ‘Asgari Mosque and Emamzadeh Qassem . The old city dates back to the early Islamic and late Timurid periods .
Malek Bahman Castle :
It is a lorge castle , located in the Albors mountain range , the road to Haraz , Larijan district , nesr Shahan-Dasht village . It was used by the padoosbanid rulers , who ruled in Rostamdar , Ruyan , Noor and Kojur from 416 to 1005 AH .
Davazdah Pelleh (Davazdah Cheshmeh) Bridge : Registration No: 3/1247
Famous as Pol-e Emam Hassan ‘Asgary , it spans Haraz River in the city of Amol . According to chronicles , its origins date back to the prehistoric period . About 130 meters long and 3 meters wide , the present-day bridge dates back to the Safavid period . It underwent a major restoration in 1292 AH , in the Qajar era .
