Written sources mention it as Nika , Nikah and Neka , meaning the land of Nahid . It was the governmental seat of Tabarestan .

Dating back to the 9 century AH /15 century AD , this tomb tower is located in Atrab village , near Neka . Built of baked bricks , it has an octagonal conical dome blind arches and decorative moqarnas (stalactites).
